What is Know Your Customer(KYC) and Why Is It Important?
Know Your Customer (KYC) is a process that involves collecting and verifying information about customers to identify them. KYC regulations are important because they provide an extra layer of security against money laundering and other types of fraud. By completing a KYC process, users can be sure that the person they are dealing with is who they say they are. Additionally, KYC can help issuers comply with AML (Anti-Money Laundering) regulations and ensure that their collectibles are not used for criminal activities.
The KYC includes document cross-checking, liveness verification, AML screenings, and other checks that can help authenticate the buyer and seller’s identity and provide protection against fraud and thefts.
How Do I Complete The KYC Process?
Navigate to the settings menu in the upper right of the web app and upper left of the mobile app. select "Enable KYC."
You will be prompted to enter your demographics as shown.
You will next be prompted to select your form of identification for verification.
After you have decided the best form of identification you be prompted to upload or take a high resolution image of the front and back of the object.
*Please note that poor lighting, blurring and other environmental issues can cause the upload to fail or the verification process to be declined. Please ensure that all images or uploads are clear.
Once your documents have been uploaded you will be prompted to take a photo of yourself.
*As mentioned before, please ensure that you are easily visible with nothing on your face or head that could cause issues with verification(I.E. Sun Glasses, Hat, Etc.).
Once all steps have been completed the information is sent to our third party verification partner to be processed. If all goes well you will receive conformation that you have been cleared. If anything needs to be adjusted or re-submitted you will be notified as well. If you have any questions or have not heard back from anyone please contact our support teams.
